Reflecting on the latest update from UK/Scottish Governments, AITC recognises our industry will prioritise personal health concerns, and those of family members, employees and business continuity.
AITC unfortunately cannot possibly help you juggle many competing priorities, but we can promote sources of advice and guidance to help build our collective resilience for a new norm.
Now is the time to work smarter not harder, so during the coming weeks and months, it is important to stress the facts.
Whilst a small minority of people will be negatively impacted, the vast majority will be of good health and most certainly online and using social media.
They will want to be entertained, inspired and informed about their own personal interests, passions and values.
As a result, there is no other alternative other than to prepare for the return of local and staycation markets.
We would advocate a form of business as usual, although we recognise if DMOs and businesses wish to taper down public awareness raising.
However, this could be replaced with alternative actions that will enable us all to fight hard to secure future revenue and markets.
We are proactively engaged with other industry initiatives to tap into insights and suggestions, so if anyone wishes further guidance, please contact us on a dedicated WhatsApp group chat.
Take care everyone
