Karmen and Gabor

Karmen Vinkovics & Gabor Horvath

Ask people around here why they moved to the Secret Coast and the same phrase comes up time and again. “We followed our dream”.

After almost twenty years in hospitality, including work aboard cruise liners, for a global hotel chain, and at a well known five-star hotel, Karmen and Gabor felt the time was right to wave goodbye to their hectic London life, and chase their own dream of rural living in beautiful surroundings.

When they opened Tregortha B&B in Tighnabruaich in 2018, Karmen and Gabor set about sharing that dream with visitors in need of a reenergising break on the Secret Coast.

As Karmen puts it, “We love our B&B and we love our guests. For us, providing an unforgettable experience for every single guest is a dream come true.”

The slower pace of life also gave Karmen and Gabor more time for themselves. For Gabor, in particular, this proved life changing.

An accomplished artist, Gabor found himself able to focus on creating new pieces; colourful, pop-art inspired collages composed of magazines and recycled beer cans.

Gabor’s work adds a pop of colour and surrealism to the walls of Tregortha and is available to buy on-site.

Karmen’s must-see recommendation for guests perfectly sums up the dream life she and Gabor have made for themselves on the Secret Coast; a walk to Rhubaan Point at sunset, to watch the evening light settle over Tighnabruaich.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and live the dream...
