Stunning stretches of water characterise Cowal’s coastline, from sparkling sea lochs to the enchanting Kyles of Bute. Many visitors to Cowal arrive by boat, ferried across the Firth of Clyde to the bustling town of Dunoon. There are plentiful opportunities other ways to experience Cowal from the water.
Try your hand at kayaking, learn to sail, go on a boat trip or cruise or climb aboard the Waverley. These are world-class sailing grounds. A whole season could easily be spent exploring the area, with islands, inlets, quiet anchorages and pub moorings, as well as great marina facilities, all adding to the magic.
