Nature and wildlife

The Heart of Argyll offers stunning scenery, a wild and rugged coastline and hundreds of acres of fabulous forests and woodland. And it’s one of Scotland’s richest wildlife habitats. You might spot otters, golden and sea eagles, red squirrels, deer and more while you’re out and about exploring.

Visit Knapdale Forest, where Scotland’s only wild beaver population lives. You’ll find two of Scotland National Nature Reserves in the Heart of Argyll – Taynish and Moine Mhor. These reserves are home to a huge range of plants, animals and birds. Take a boat trip to see basking sharks, porpoises and seals.
