Islay restaurants have just got nice ‘n’ peaty
Islay restaurants have just got nice ‘n’ peaty in the form of the fabulous pizzeria restaurant – PEATZERIA. Situated on Shore Street, Bowmore, it opened its doors this spring. It has been a great addition to Bowmore and the restaurant scene on Islay. So how did it start? Caroline (born in Bowmore) has long wanted to have a modern restaurant on Islay and it has now arrived serving up delicious pizzas and more to the local community and holiday makers on the island.
They offer popular creative and traditional styles of Italian influenced foods, principally sour dough stone-baked pizza, utilising local seafood, at moderate affordable prices. The food offering is modern, fresh and of consistently high quality. The Islay Lobster pizza is a speciality.
Beside Lochindaal, the restaurant sits in an historic building dating back to 1903. Seating up to 36 people inside, you can take in the history of the island in a contemporary bistro style atmosphere. During the summer months, you can dine outdoors on the Terrace, overlooking the beautiful waters of Lochindaal.
Peatzeria is a family run business with Sharon, Caroline’s sister and her husband Paul running the restaurant. Both Sharon and Paul have many years of experience in the hospitality industry and look forward to welcoming you for lunch, dinner, or our famous Porrellis Italian ice cream and Azzurro coffee.
The Peatzeria is open from 12.00 to 22.00 seven days a week with the full Peatzeria menu available all day. Look it up on Trip Advisor.
