This breath-taking beach on the island of Colonsay is one of Argyll’s finest and is relatively easily accessible. The sweep of bleached-white sand, broken only by occasional jagged rocks, is fringed by undulating green hills. The weather can change the mood of the place, from benign and gentle to wild and unsettled with huge breakers crashing in from the Atlantic. After a strong westerly the rollers should be big enough to surf. Take a short walk up Carnan Eoin for views over the beach to Jura.
