Founded in 1977, the museum has built up an extensive collection of objects, books and photographs reflecting the variety of life on Islay. Come and see the displays, from Mesolithic flint tools to an illicit still, Victorian toys to sporting trophies, old crofting tools to household objects, shipwrecks to dairy equipment. There's lots to see for all the family, and quizzes for children. The library is available for research. The shop offers a range of books and attractive gifts.

Wheelchair access to all areas except the library.
