Beacharr Standing Stone
Contact details
On top a steep escarpment looking out over the Sound of Ghiga is a solitary standing stone, erected during the Neolithic period.
The Beacharr stone is the tallest in Kintyre, standing just over 5m tall (about 16.5 feet).
To get there you can acces a small parking area on the main B83 road by a white cottage. From there you can straight up the steep hill to the stone, which stands inside a farm fence.
