History and hauntings
The ancient region of Lorn is steeped in history and home to countless fascinating heritage sites. It’s home to some fabulous ruined castles, including Castle Stalker, Dunstaffnage Castle and Dunollie Castle. Further south are the miniscule Slate Islands, whose quarries yielded millions of slates per year at their peak.
Cross the ‘Bridge over the Atlantic’ to Seil and visit the folk museum on Easdale. Take the ferry to Luing to visit the Atlantic Islands Centre, where you’ll find out more about the history of these islands. Or how about cycling the Red Fox Trail from Oban to uncover the story of a famous unsolved Scottish crime?
