Immerse yourself in Oban

The fishing port of Oban is the unofficial capital of the West Highlands and gateway to the Western Isles. This lovely Victorian resort is full of life, with ferries to the Hebrides coming and going, convivial bars and streets packed with individual shops and cafés. Known as ‘Scotland’s Seafood Capital’, it’s the place to sample fresh seafood. Fish and chips have never tasted so good!

There are lots of fascinating visitor attractions in Oban, including Oban Distillery, Dunollie Castle and McCaig’s Tower. You can take boat trips from Oban and catch ferries to the islands. The Argyll Sea Kayak Trail starts at Ganavan Sands, Oban. If you’d rather keep your feet firmly on land, then head to the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary in Oban
