Tigh Grianach is located 7 miles from Oban (also known as both "The Gateway to the Isles" and "Seafood Capital of Scotland") and is a comfortable 3 bedroom cottage which has recently been refurbished. Tigh Grianach has a light airy and sunny lounge with a large patio door which faces Loch Etive allowing you to marvel at a view which is really one of Argyll’s treasures. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the local area and beyond. To the west, the view is of wide open fields where in the early morning deer may be spotted.
Tigh Grianach comfortably sleeps 6 and is ideal for either families or couples. The cottage is ideally located a "stones throw" from the shores of Loch Etive and has spectacular views that take in both the Loch and Ben Cruachan. The cottage is a leisurely walk to either the villages of Benderloch or Connel where you will find a licensed general store and for the more energetic there is the climb up the forest path to Ben Lora or a meander through the many miles of Barcaldine forest paths.
The cottage is also within easy reach of the Oban to Fort William cycle path - a wonderful scenic route almost entirely traffic free using parts of the old railway line, forest paths and along the roadside - a fantastic opportunity for safe cycling.Loch Etive offers a number of activities ... fishing either from the shore or by boat. Loch cruises from nearby Taynuilt or cycle along its picture perfect shore. Direct access to Loch Etive for small boat launching.
If it happens to rain it is always enjoyable to stroll round the many shops and restaurants of Oban, visit its leisure centre and swimming pool, tour the distillery or take a tour inside Ben Cruachan "The Hollow Mountain" to see first hand how Hydro Electricity is generated.
There are restaurants/pubs within two miles of the cottage.
