Boat Trips

Adventures on the water

Boat trips are an unbeatable way to explore Argyll and the Isles and discover the wonderful wildlife that inhabits the region’s waters and coastline.

There are numerous boat operators who will take you out on an array of specialist boat trips.

Enjoy incredible sea views, witness some awe-inspiring natural attractions and get up close and personal with a host of wildlife, including dolphins, seals, basking sharks, whales and sea eagles.

Whether it’s a gentle sail down the Kyles of Bute or an adrenaline fuelled RIB ride through the infamous Gulf of Correyvreckan or a week-long cruise on board a converted fishing boat, there’s a boat trip to suit everyone in Argyll and the Isles.

You don’t have to pay to go on a specialist boat trip. On any ferry journey within the region you’ll often spot wildlife.

Oban is a top spot in Argyll for boat trips, with a number of different boat operators heading out to the islands.

Wildlife enthusiasts may want to hook up with Basking Shark Scotland in for a chance to spot – and even swim with – basking sharks and other marine life.

The sea lochs which characterise Cowal are also fabulous places for a boat cruise, or why not experience Loch Lomond’s magnificent scenery and its varied wildlife with a tailored cruise or catch one of the many water buses.
