About

Andrew and Alison would like to welcome you to the Bowmore House Bed and Breakfast

Built in 1898 the house has had a long history on Islay and retains many of the original features whilst having been updated to accommodate the modern traveller's expectations.

All 5 bedrooms are on the first floor (4 enjoying views of Bowmore and Loch Indaal) and can be set with either a king size double bed or 2 single beds. They all have large ensuite bathrooms with shower baths, TV and tea and coffee making in the room.

We have an additional 3 bedrooms in our self catering annex a short 30 second walk next door. The annex also benefits from a large living room and fully fitted kitchen. Take 1 bedroom or all 3 bedrooms, either on a B&B basis or self catering.

Combine both properties and a larger group can stay together and have exclusive use of both houses. We can then host your special function or offer private dining.

Start your day with a breakfast freshly prepared to order using local sourced ingredients, such as sausages hand made by the local Bowmore butcher or free range eggs from Portnahaven.

We are licensed to serve alcohol to our residents.

Request a bottle of bubbly or decanter of Islay whisky in your room to start your Islay adventure off with or we can arrange a private tasting or simply retire to your room with a dram before bed.

We offer the following complimentary services to our guests, a dram of Islay single malt on arrival, free WiFi throughout the house, laundry (washing & drying), off road car parking, distillery tour booking, reservation of taxi, rental car or restaurants during your stay. Check in for your returns flights and print your boarding cards.

Having travelled ourselves extensively we appreciate the ability to check in early or check out late and we will endeavour to accommodate you on both regards if requested.
