Discover Kintyre's Famous Beaches
Kintyre is a long finger of land that stretches south towards Ireland. The west coast of the peninsula is another of Argyll’s surfing spots. Huge sandy beaches are often pounded by Atlantic breakers, making it a destination for adventurous surfers. Westport Beach stretches for six miles to Machrihanish.
The east is a gentler coastline with protected bays and and stunning views of Arran. Carradale Bay is a stunning big sandy south-facing beach on the east coast. Or take a walk to Saddell Bay, a wild, remote and beautiful bay that look across the Kilbrannan Sound.
