Historic Environment Scotland is a non-departmental public body, which ensures our historic environment is cared for, valued and preserved for future generations. Historic Scotland has over 300 locations that can be visited around Scotland. This includes all things castles and heritage. Historic Scotland offers a membership card that allows members free access to hundreds of sites throughout Scotland and also offers discount prices across England and Wales, making for the perfect gift!

What makes Historic Environment Scotland unique?
''We are Historic Environment Scotland and look after over 300 heritage sites across the country. We are investigating, caring for and promoting Scotland’s historic environment. Additionally, we look after significant collections including more than 5 million drawings, photographs, negatives and manuscripts, along with 20 million aerial images of locations across the world. We invest in national and local organisations, supporting building repairs, ancient monuments, archaeological work.''
What are you most grateful for this year?
''We are incredibly grateful for our Historic Scotland Members, who are helping us look after Scotland’s heritage. Many of our fantastic members have chosen to support us throughout the national Lockdowns and we are humbled by their support.''
What are you most looking forward to this Festive Season?
''We are looking forward to being able to welcome visitors over the festive periods again this Christmas and hosting Christmas events at Edinburgh and Stirling Castle.''
