Kings Reach B & B

What makes Kings Reach Bed and Breakfast Unique?

''We own Kings Reach Vegan Bed and Breakfast (Sean and Sara) and we are located at the end of Kilmartin Glen. There are beautiful open countryside views of Dunadd Hill from our guest rooms and dining room, a great place to watch those amazing west coast sunsets. Our delicious breakfasts do not contain any animal products and are suitable for everyone. We serve freshly baked bread and homemade muffins plus a variety of cooked options. One of the most popular choices on the menu is the stack of pancakes with blueberries, bananas and pecans dripping with maple syrup. This truly is compassionate and cruelty-free food, a great way to start the day. We also have two self-catering apartments behind the house if you want to do your own thing, ideal for families and a great base for exploring the local area. We are closed over the winter months, re-opening on 1st March 2022. Gift vouchers are available to buy on the website to treat someone to a stay in our peaceful vegan haven.''

What are you most grateful for this year and what are you most looking forward to in 2022?

''We are very grateful for all the lovely guests that have been to stay with us this year. We love seeing the effect that Argyll has on our guests - walking in the forests and connecting with nature has such a profound effect on people. They truly relax and de-stress from their busy lives as the landscape of Argyll works its magic. Next year we look forward to hosting many more guests in our peaceful vegan haven and sharing this beautiful part of Argyll with them. We love to show people how delicious vegan food is and how it is suitable for everyone. It’s not all lentils and lettuce!''

How do you, at Kings Reach B&B Spend the Festive season and why is it important for you?

''We are both Buddhists so we do not celebrate Christmas in the traditional way that most people do. We practice Ahimsa which is harmlessness in the world. This is why we are vegan, as we do not want animals to suffer for what is on our plate. We do not drink alcohol or overconsume, we live a simple life and cultivate contentment with what we have. For us, the festive period is a time of peace for reflection. As the world slows down for a short time we can all benefit from letting go of the need to be busy. We enjoy snuggling in front of the fire with a good book and going for long mindful forest walks.''

Why should people visit Argyll & the Isles this Winter?

''The colours of the landscape in Argyll are so beautiful in winter, with the low winter sun. There’s nothing more energising than a long walk on a cold blue sky winters day. Argyll offers an escape from the busy world, so much space and freedom, stunning coastal viewpoints and waymarked forest trails, where you probably won’t see anyone for hours. You can truly feel like you have a little piece of Scotland all to yourself for a while, a million miles away from the mad busy world.''

What are the Advantages of staying at Kings Reach B & B?

''The advantages of staying in a small B & B like ours - we run the business by ourselves so you get our personal attention. We make sure you have the best time while in Argyll with our in-depth knowledge of the local area and our connections with other local businesses.  We can help you plan days out to suit your needs and recommend all the best vegan-friendly places to eat out. We’re happy to chat with you but equally happy to leave you to do your own thing. We maintain a quiet peaceful atmosphere in the B & B so everyone can relax. We like seeing our guests fall in love with the heart of Argyll and vowing to return to spend more time here.''
