Slow down at The House at Glenbarr, a peaceful rural stay on Kintyre’s west coast between Tarbert and Campbeltown. Five individually styled rooms combine quality alpaca bedding, free Wi-Fi and thoughtful local touches with easy self check-in and free on-site parking.

Choose Hebe, a ground-floor king room with an en-suite shower; Holly, a comfortable first-floor double with an en-suite; flexible king-or-twin rooms Hosta and Hazel, each with its own private shower room across the hall; or the spacious Hayloft king studio with a separate sitting and dining area plus kitchenette. Guests can also relax in the shared lounge and use the self-catering kitchen. Selected seven-night, exclusive-use stays for up to ten guests are available by enquiry outside May, June and July.

Step outside for quiet country air, big skies and some of Kintyre’s best dark-sky conditions. Walk the dog or stretch your legs in the Dal en Duie field, explore beaches and the Kintyre 66, visit Campbeltown and Tarbert, or use Glenbarr as a convenient base for ferries to Gigha and Islay. Dogs are welcome by prior agreement.

Glenbarr Stores café, shop and garden centre are next door. Room rates are room only; a freshly cooked breakfast can be added when booking or arranged before arrival.
