Inverlonan

Explore, Experience, Reconnect

Re-imagining the bothy experience: A unique, off-grid, slow-living adventure in ecological luxury. 3 stunning bothies, nestled in ancient oak woodland on the shores of Loch Nell, Oban.

Inverlonan is all about taking things slow, getting back to basics, reconnecting with nature, and disconnecting to reconnect in a wild luxury escape. Wild wellness is at the heart of our ethos—Luxuriate in a hidden sauna. Rejuvenate with a wild swim. Paddle the loch. Stroll through the spectacular scenery. Cook up a feast on your outdoor firepits with the very best local produce delivered straight to your bothy. Sip away on a sundowner whilst relaxing in front of a log fire. Turn off the outside world and enjoy.

Included in your stay is a locally sourced ‘Farm to Bothy’ breakfast. Our bothy breakfast is a taster of artisan Argyll in your bothy larder. Enjoy indoors or out with a freshly brewed coffee in hand.

We are lucky to have an exceptionally talented chef at Inverlonan. After nearly 5 years at the iconic River Cafe, then roles as Head Chef at Storico (New York), Goldeneye (Jamaica) and The Fife Arms (Braemar), chef Tim Kensett offers a unique, off-grid dining experience with a set menu composed of the freshest, most local, most seasonal, most ethically sourced ingredients we can find. The 8-course tasting menu will be cooked over an open fire and served in a secret location, surrounded by scenic Highland beauty. This is a fairy-tale experience open to our bothy guests and the public at large. Tim’s food is exceptional.

The Bothies:

  • Beatha (Bay-Ah) The calm, cool, zen one. Peaceful, soft, cream clay walls. Nestled in the heart of the ancient oak woodland, looking down on the loch. Furry beast friendly.
  • Sitheil (She-Eel) The new kid on the block. Textured, black Arakabe clay walls with golden flecks of straw. Stunning. Expansive, imposing views across the loch. Closest to the beach and the hidden sauna.
  • Uisge (Oosh-Ka) The original rusty baby! Rich, warm, green clay walls. Perched directly on the banks of Loch Nell. Every window is a picture frame. You’re not supposed to have a favourite kid but…
