The George Hotel 1860 is a lively and romantic, award winning hotel, restaurant and bar which has been family owned and run since 1860 - providing quality and authentic Scottish hospitality for over 160 years.

Overlooking Upper Loch Fyne, the hotel offers the best of the West Coast of Scotland - completely uniquely rooms, an atmospheric restaurant, a proper old pub with open fire and terrace, a beautiful antique cocktail bar and a large, spacious garden bar overlooking Loch Fyne, with live music every weekend.

Our Rooms

Every room at The George is entirely unique and all are within our Georgian townhouses in the centre of Inveraray. The suites feature centuries old exposed stone walls, open fires, huge baths and massive beds. All of the rooms are within two Georgian townhouses in the centre of Inveraray and overlooking Loch Fyne and all are complete with robes and slippers, Nespresso coffee machines and organic Highland Soap Co. toiletries.

We have a range of rooms to suit everyone from beautiful spacious suites to smaller standard room offering excellent value for money and self catering options too. All of our rooms are dog friendly.

Restaurants and Bars

The George's restaurant with no less than four open fires and produce straight from our boat on Loch Fyne, is not to be missed and booking is advised.

Open daily from 12pm - 12am (last dinner sitting 8pm).  Multiple award winning and space to unpack the family or have a memorable meal for two. With a choice of three bars and a terrace, you are spoiled for places to relax.

Enjoy our cocktail bar serving seasonal cocktail and an extensive wine list, the pub with open fire and over 400 whiskies and The Garden bar, a spacious, leafy bar with heated and covered seating which overlooks Loch Fyne. Live music every Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon all summer long - no booking required.
