Wildlife visitor centre in the heart of Argyll's temperate rainforest
Step inside a 400-year-old farmhouse in the heart of Knapdale and discover one of Argyll’s most memorable wildlife experiences. Run by naturalists Oly Armstrong and Pete Creech, the Argyll Beaver Centre offers guided beaver walks (with sightings on over 90% of walks in 2025), seashore safaris, bat evenings and bespoke adventures exploring Scotland’s rare Atlantic rainforest, rich birdlife and ancient landscapes.
Completely off-grid and surrounded by sea lochs, oak woodland and protected habitats, the centre also features a wildlife hide (red squirrels, woodpeckers, pine martens and more), hands-on displays and family-friendly facilities — with free entry to the visitor centre and unforgettable encounters waiting just outside the door.
Note: the centre operates on seasonal hours, check the website for up-to-date opening dates & times.
