I am an artist who works in both dimensions - 2D & 3D. 2D is practiced in the studio at home. Sculptural 3D forms are created outdoors in a garden setting (or in a public space). The studio is awash with drawing, painting, digital prints, acrylic, pastel & mixed media work. The garden is often filled with willow (or wire) sculpture. I also tutor/mentor individuals & art groups locally.

My artistic practice is informed by deep research into place achieved by living and working in the same environment. I am inspired by the wildness, heritage and sense of place from my home on the Keills Peninsula and West Coast of Scotland.

For twenty years I have been snorkelling and swimming in the beautiful Sound of Jura. Fascinated by the realm of seaweed beneath me I see it as secret and unexpected treasure – underwater kelp forests and sea meadows gracefully riding the ebb and flow of the tides and currents. Diving for eye-catching specimens, I then collage, arrange and press them into artwork to capture their exquisite colour and diverse and extraordinary forms.
