Bute Arts Society: Presents Sorelle

Women in opera are so often brushed off as lovesick, weak, or sidekicks. Three sopranos want to change that. Sorelle, or 'sisters, is an innovative all-female operatic group created to revitalise the image of the women of opera the queens, heroines, and lovers and restore them to their rightful place in the public imagination. The trio joined forces after touring in a production of Puccini's allfemale Suor Angelica - hence the title of 'sisters'! Sorelle are proud to be bringing opera straight to the heart of communities that are not regularly treated to the art form, and are particularly passionate about bringing opera to first-time concert goers, children, and those unable to venture further afield.
