Around the Horn with Chris Roche

Chris has been interested in traditional sail and Shantying for more years than he can shake a stick at and was formerly leader of `The Shanty Crew`. A former editor of the Journal of the Cape Horner Association he has rounded Cape Horn on three occasions. He's Square rigged, voyaged across the Pacific and across the Atlantic 7 times since then. A native of Folkestone he guesses salt was added to his blood at birth. Chris will give an illustrated talk - and no doubt give a sing or two on how he rounded Cape Horn in the Sren Larsen the ship last seen on our televisions in the seventies in The Onedin Line when she was the first British Isles owned and registered Square Rigged vessel to make Cape Horn in 55 years.
