From Argyll to Iveragh Workshops

Three immersive Gaelic song workshops will offer participants the opportunity to explore the deep musical connections between Scotland and Ireland, highlighting the historical links between Clár’s home of Iveragh and Colmcille (St. Columba), which links Ireland to Gaelic Argyll. Participants will explore similarities and differences in style, ornamentation, and pronunciation across the two traditions, while being encouraged to share their own knowledge of Scottish Gaelic songs and compare them with Irish traditions. During the workshop, Clár will be joined by CHARTS Gaelic Culture Officer, Àdhamh Ó Broin, who will share songs from Argyll. All events will take place at Campbeltown Museum. All events are free and open to the public. Booking is essential. Singers of all levels are welcome; Gaelic fluency is not required.
