Cowal Comedy Club presents: Raymond Mearns and Friends

The best of Scottish comedy is coming to Dunoon on Friday 11th of September, as Cowal Comedy Club presents a night of top quality stand up here in the Burgh Hall. Headlining the show is the incomparable Raymond Mearns. Perhaps best known recently as the 'Glesga Da' from the eponymous podcast, Mearns has been a full-time actor and comedian for over 20 years. Loved across Scotland for his phenomenal wit and improvisational skills, Raymond has appeared in the likes of Limmy's Show and BBC's Breaking the News. His acting CV is arguably even more impressive, with roles in critically acclaimed films like Ae Fond Kiss, It's a Free World (both directed by the legendary Ken Loach) and Limbo. Come and see why Frankie Boyle described Raymond as a genuine improvisational genius", while Billy Connolly called him a man that knows how to swear properly! Opening the show is Ruaridh Miller, an up-and-coming comedian from Dumfries who wowed at last years Edinburgh Fringe so much so, he was nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards! We will also be joined by the brilliant Sarah Bradley, a native of New Zealand who has made her mark on the Scottish Comedy scene with her critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe show Just Like Other Girls (4 stars, one4review). The host for the evening will be Dunoons own Roddy Gordon, who is resident compere at Blackfriars Comedy Club in Glasgow and was nominated for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award as part of Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2024.
