Argyll & the Isles Tourism Competition Rules

By entering this competition, you agree to the following terms: 

1. Who’s running the competition

This competition is organised by Argyll & the Isles Tourism Cooperative Ltd (AITC). This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram. AITC is the responsible organisation for this competition. 

2. The prize

  • The prize is up to £500 in total value. 
  • AITC will arrange and pay the accommodation or experience provider directly up to a maximum of £500. Note: The value includes the cost of ferry tickets, if required. 
  • If your chosen location is on an island within Argyll & Bute, you’ll also receive CalMac ferry tickets for up to four passengers plus one car. Please note That Motorhomes and caravans are excluded. 

3. How to enter

  • The competition will open on the 5th of September 2025 and close on the 19th of October 2025. 
  • To enter the competition, please complete and submit the secure entry form. Entries submitted via comments or direct messages will not be accepted. 
  • The single winning entrant will be selected and notified no later than the 31st December 2025. 
  • No purchase is necessary to take part. 
  • Only one entry per person is allowed. 
  • You must be 18 or older on the date you enter. 
  • Complete the online form fully before the 19th of October. Spam, incomplete or inappropriate entries may be disqualified. 

4. Intellectual Property

  • Users must only submit content they own or have rights to. 
  • By entering this competition, you confirm that any content you submit is your own and that you grant Argyll & the Isles Tourism Cooperative Ltd (AITC) a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to republish, share, or feature this material on our websites, social media channels, and marketing platforms. 
  • Personal details will not be shared without your explicit consent. 
  • Entrants retain full ownership of their original content 

5. Winner selection and notification

  • A judging panel, made up of representatives from Argyll & the Isles Tourism Cooperative and local tourism partners, will review all anonymised shortlisted entries. The winner will be chosen based on which entry best demonstrates a creative and genuine connection to Argyll & the Isles. In the event of a tie, the panel will make a final decision by majority vote. The panel’s decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Winner will be contacted via the email address provided at entry. 
  • If the winner does not respond after three contact attempts, another winner will be chosen. 

6. Important details

  • The prize cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded, and there’s no cash alternative. 
  • If the selected prize is unavailable, AITC may substitute it with another prize of equal or higher value. 
  • If your ferry is cancelled for any reason, you’ll need to liaise directly with CalMac to rearrange your travel. 

7. Data and privacy

  • If you win, we’ll need your name, email address, phone number, and postal address to arrange your prize. 
  • Your details will be handled securely and in line with our Privacy Policy. 
  • Personal data will never be sold or shared with third parties for unrelated marketing purposes. 

8. Marketing consent

  • When entering, you’ll be asked to opt in to receive our newsletter and updates about Argyll & the Isles. 
  • You can choose not to subscribe, and this will not affect your entry. 
  • If you opt in, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in our emails or contacting us directly. 

9. Limitations and liability

  • We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, or corrupted. 
  • Our liability for any claim related to this competition is limited to the value of the prize. 
  • We are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential losses, except where required by law. 

10. Changes and cancellations

If events outside our control affect the competition, we reserve the right to change, suspend, or cancel it at any time. 

11. Final decisions

  • Our decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  • The winner’s first name and social media username may be shared on AITC’s social media channels after selection.
