Argyll & the Isles boasts a growing network of cultural organisations, artists and makers, all inspired by the environment and communities they work & live within. 

Our coastal environment plays a pivotal role in the creative life of many Argyll residents, with many artists' and makers' work on display in venues across the region. 

Argyll & the Isles has a wide range of artists, makers and designers who showcase a diverse range of products that explore the cultural and natural heritage of Argyll.

Wild At Art

We curate and run small group art holidays, retreats and tailor-made creative experiences in Scotland. We create opportunities for visitors from all over the world to connect with our stunning locations in an authentic and transformative way - through drawing & painting, stonecarving, creative writing, pottery, photography, weaving, printmaking, herbalism, jewellery making and more.

Artmap Argyll

To ensure that Argyll & the Isles is recognised as a vibrant, creative hub, this network of professional and aspiring artists alike help one another to share their work and experiences with a wider audience. Artmap Argyll deliver a range of events, public art installations and workshops that offer artists opportunities to showcase. The annual Red Dot Studio Trail is Argyll’s premier visual arts event. 

Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute

A powerhouse of creative activity, Mount Stuart hosts a variety of events and exhibitions throughout the year to pique your curiosity. This wouldn’t be possible without the welcoming, nurturing environment that is created for artists.

Mount Stuart has always been a place of innovation, so their programming presents work by significant Scottish and international artists. The programme invites contemporary artists to bring new perspectives to the extraordinary Neo-Gothic mansion, its collections and location.

Complementing each exhibition is a programme of events, publications and educational activities. 

Dunoon Burgh Hall

This community arts hub has museum standard gallery spaces, and a theatre with original stage and balcony. The Burgh Hall engages audiences with a year-round programme of exhibitions celebrating national and international artists; live events; festivals; and productions.

The Rockfield Centre, Oban

A community-owned cultural venue at the heart of Oban offers a range of activity for all ages and stages with a dedicated gallery room; performance studio; local heritage research room and an arts studio.

This flexible venue organises a range of events.

Cove Park, Helensburgh

Cove Park is an international artists residency centre located on Scotland's west coast. Residencies support the development of new work by national and international artists, groups and organisations working in all art forms.
