Explore the Arrochar Alps and climb The Cobbler, one of Scotland’s most iconic peaks. Have you got what it takes to ‘Thread the Needle’ and reach the true summit? You’ll need a good head for heights and some scrambling skills. The views from the top are awesome. On a clear day you can see Glasgow in the distance. The Arrochar Alps offer some of the best rock climbing in Scotland. You can hone your climbing skills in Glasgow. Try the Glasgow Climbing Centre for a unique rock climbing experience. Located in a converted church, the climbing routes stretch up into the original oak beamed ceiling. If bouldering’s more your thing, try the Climbing Academy Glasgow, based in the old News International building.
Now for something swell! How about catching a flight from Glasgow to Tiree? In no time you could be catching waves on Tiree’s world-famous surfing strands. Tiree is home to some of the best beaches in Scotland. With its pristine white sands, sparkling water and near-guaranteed wind and waves, Tiree is a mecca for surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers. The island has excellent surfing schools offering surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing and SUP lessons for all levels. Loganair flights to Tiree leave daily from Glasgow Airport at 8.50am and arrive back by 7pm, leaving you plenty for urban adventures in the pubs and clubs of Glasgow.
