Mount Stuart features magnificent Victorian Gothic architecture and design together with contemporary craftsmanship. The house is surrounded by extensive grounds including three formal gardens; the Kitchen Garden, Rock Garden and Wee Garden. Set on the shore overlooking the River Clyde, visitors have access to a secluded private beach where seals are often seen basking on the rocks. The Courtyard Cafe is open all season serving light lunches, snacks and home-baking with ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. The Mount Stuart Shop stocks a unique range of gifts supplied by local artists and crafters group, the Isle of Bute Artist's Collective. Mount Stuart is easily accessible by ferry and car, bike or bus. Just 70 minutes from Glasgow Airport and 20 minutes from the Argyll mainland.
