Nature and Wildlife in Argyll & the Isles

Scotland's Wildlife Coast

Argyll & the Isles is truly ‘Nature’s Paradise’, where towering mountains meet glistening sea lochs, ancient oak forests hug the shoreline and glorious gardens bloom.

Discover Argyll’s natural wonders, including the Corryvreckan whirlpool and Staffa which inspired Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.

Woodland covers nearly a third of Argyll. Wander in the region’s ‘temperate rainforests’, where mosses, lichens and ferns. Whilst our eco-system is home to some incredible wildlife, keep your eyes peeled when you’re out exploring or join a local wildlife guide to spot otters, red squirrels, basking sharks, beavers and majestic white-tailed eagles.
