Between Arrochar and Tarbet sits Tarbet Glen, an ancient battlefield where Viking raiders would fight the Clan McFarlane.

Nearby Arrochar is overlooked by the “Arrochar Alps” and marks the gateway to the Argyll Forest Park.

If travelling by road, use the A82 along the western side of the Loch Lomond, or you can travel on the world famous West Highland Line to Arrochar/Tarbet.

A water bus services operates from Tarbet on Loch Lomondside.
