Immerse yourself in Lorn

The ancient region of Lorn is steeped in history and home to countless heritage sites, including some of Scotland’s most romantic ruined castles. Two picturesque peninsulas – Benderloch and Appin – offer walking and cycling. The low-lying island of Kerrera sits in Oban Bay. Lismore is another gem with gentle walking and cycling opportunities.

Further south are the miniscule Slate Islands, whose quarries yielded millions of slates per year at their peak. Cross the ‘Bridge over the Atlantic’ to Seil and visit the fascinating folk museum on Easdale. Take the short ferry trip to Luing, hire a bike or boat and visit the Atlantic Islands Centre. You’ll also discover some glorious gardens.
