Island hopping

If you fancy an island adventure on the west coast of Scotland there’s no better base than Oban. CalMac, Scotland’s largest ferry operator, provides an extensive service from here to the islands. Visit Mull, Iona and Staffa or combine a visit to the western-most isles of the Inner Hebrides, Coll and Tiree.

For something closer to the mainland, the islands of Seil, Easdale and Luing are worth visiting. The ferry journeys are part of the pleasure of the trip. You’ll see stunning seascapes and wildlife galore as you travel from island to island. Don’t forget that bikes go free on ferries, so you can leave your car behind.
